Cellist Stacy Nickell Miller has performed with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra since 1998. As part of her full-time duties with the KSO, she has performed for seven years with the string quartet, “Delights,” giving educational and interactive performances at schools, libraries, hospitals and nursing homes. Stacy has taught strings both privately and in public schools since 1985 in both West Virginia and Tennessee. Here in Knoxville, she also performs with the well-known cello, harp and flute trio, Farr Horizons. Prior to moving to Knoxville, Stacy held a position for 12 years as assistant principal cellist and orchestra director for the public schools with the West Virginia Symphony. While in West Virginia, she also performed a wide range of music with her guitarist husband, Clark, and played with and composed music for the Appalachian/Celtic all-female band, Mountain Thyme. She holds performance degrees from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and Ohio University.
