The hqband is:
Hector Qirko—Electric Guitar, Vocals
Dirk Weddington—Sax
Jim Williams—Bass
Steve Brown—Drums
Individual resumes include playing blues in Chicago, jazz, punk and salsa in New York, R&B in Memphis, country in Nashville, and even performing with the Knoxville Symphony. Together, they’ve played the Southeast and beyond for over twenty years, won many “Best of” awards in a town full of good music, and released five recordings (the most recent, “Old School,” in 2008). While at their core a Chicago-style blues band, they play a wide variety of styles, suitable for both listening and dancing. As the Knoxville News-Sentinel put it, the hqband “is about delivering music with soul.”
