While growing up in Chicago, Brian found himself drawn to the guitar as his musical instrument of choice. He took inspiration from the guitar playing of Chet Atkins and many other legendary guitarists who utilized the guitar’s potential to combine melody, chords and bass.
Here in Knoxville, Brian plays once a month at the Bistro at the Bijou. The jazz standards of the twenties, thirties and forties figure prominently in his repertoire, as well as newer standards and some of his own compositions.
He has also played at Regas, and at private parties, recitals, and events for the Art Market, American Institute of Architects, East Tennessee Community Design Center, and the American Marketing Association. He has also composed original music for the Knoxville Public Library web site. In addition to solo performances, he has played guitar, mandolin, and steel guitar in a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles, including L.B. & the Radons. He is available for solo or ensemble work, or for assembling a duo, trio, or quartet as needed.
